The latest trailer for Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted has been released and....I still don't get it. Never have. Never will. The appeal of it is beyond me. Further expanding on the talking zoo animals freed from their city confines conceit, the latest film has Alex the Lion(Ben Stiller), Marty the zebra(Chris Rock) and the rest stranded in Monte Carlo. There they join a traveling circus in hopes of escaping animal control and possibly finding a way home.
While it may not be my cup of tea, Dreamworks has made over $1B on the series up to this point, and that doesn't include all the spin off DVDs. The script surprisingly comes from Noah Baumbach(The Squid and the Whale), and while it might seem like a mismatched union he also served as co-writer on the Wes Anderson directed Fantastic Mr. Fox.
