Universal must be pleased as punch to see Relativity's Mirror Mirror struggle the way it has. Even with Tarsem Singh directing and Julia Roberts starring, the Snow White film was just too silly to be taken seriously, which means that audiences want their fairy tales with a lot more grit and violence. Enter Rupert Sanders' Snow White and the Huntsman.
A brand new international poster plus a bunch of photos have been released, giving us a better look at the cast. Charlize Theron has the juiciest role by far, playing the Evil Queen who hires Chris Hemsworth's strong but haunted Huntsman to slay her beautiful step-daughter, played by Kristen Stewart. If you had no clue this had anything to do with Snow White, these images certainly wouldn't help make things any clearer. I think one of its strongest points is the darker tone, and that it looks a lot like Game of Thrones.
