'Undercover Brother' director Malcolm Lee to take on 'Scary Movie 5'

Hey, remember last June when we had that story about Dimension Films setting a release date for Scary Movie 5? You remember that? Well, that release date was for...wait for it.....April 20th 2012. So, how did you enjoy the movie? Was it as terribly unfunny as the rest? What? You don't remember it? I know it was 4/20 but were you high or something? Don't worry, you didn't forget. The movie never happened because...well, nobody was ever friggin' hired to make it. So now that's changed. Hip hip hooray.

Malcolm Lee, who has directed some good flicks like Undercover Brother and Roll Bounce, has been tapped to take on the horror spoof franchise. This is the rare time when the Wayans Brothers deserve credit, as all of the movies have been awful since David Zucker took over. Zucker will be back to co-write along with Lee, so I'm assuming the previous script by John Aboud and Michael Colton has been scrapped.

Scary Movie 5 is set to open on January 11th 2013, and maybe this time it'll actually hit the target date. It remains to be seen if series star, Anna Faris, will be back. [EW]
