Punch Drunk DVDs

3. Certified Copy (The Criterion Collection)
Don't let anyone ever spoil to you the richness and the depth of this seemingly simple story from Iranian writer/director, Abbas Kiarostami. What appears on the surface to be the story of an antiques dealer(Juliette Binoche) and a British writer(William Shimell) learning about eachother while talking over the course of a day, is actually something considerably more provocative and intellectually stimulating.

2. The Woman in Black
Daniel Radcliffe didn't venture far from the supernatural realm for his first post-Harry Potter film, The Woman in Black. Drenched in gloom and shrouded in utter darkness, the Victorian-era story has Radcliffe as a young lawyer who travels to a small town to handle the affairs of a dead woman. Only when he arrives he discovers a community locked in terror over a vengeance seeking evil spirit.
1. The Secret World of Arrietty
Journey into the natural, magical world right beneath in our feet in the latest film from Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. This heartwarming tale of loyalty and courage tells the story of a race of diminutive "Borrowers" who live in the nooks and crevasses of human homes. When the rebellious daughter one such family, Arrietty, is discovered by a sickly human boy, their friendship blossoms into a full blown adventure. The best animated film of the year right now, and another Miyazaki classic.
