Spike Jonze adds Olivia Wilde to his untitled romance film
Away from the director's chair since 2009's Where the Wild Things Are, Spike Jonze hasn't exactly been sitting on his hands. He's been back doing a number of music videos and short films, including helming Arcade Fire's excellent Scenes from the Suburbs. He remains one of the more unique voices in Hollywood, and his next film sounds about as far out as anything he's ever done, which only makes the awesome cast he's putting together even better.
With Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, Samantha Morton, and Amy Adams already on board, the latest to join Jonze's still untitled project is Olivia Wilde. The omnipresent actress's role is unclear, but we know her addition only solidifies this will be the most gorgeous cast ever. The story sounds a little bit like the Andrew Niccol film, S1mOne, and has a guy who falls in love with a Siri-like computer voice. Crazy, right?
Financing has just been secured, so we should be hearing more about a start date pretty soon. Hopefully we'll see this some time early next year? With this cast you know it's going to be a major part of the 2013 festival circuit.
