Sure Shots: 'Thor 2'; 'Kick-Ass 2'; Brad Pitt
* It's been a pretty exciting week for fans of Marvel movies. There's been a new piece of news just about every day this week, and most of it has been pretty big, involving villains and suits of armor and...yeah, kinda crazy. Anyway, this latest bit is kinda small, but worth mentioning. Marvel has bumped up Thor 2 a week on the schedule, releasing the godly sequel on November 8th 2013. That's it. Nothing else to see here.
* With Kick-Ass 2 FINALLY getting off the ground this fall with Jeff Wadlow(Cry_Wolf) behind the camera, attention turned towards who would be coming back to star. Despite some concern over Chloe Moretz's jam packed schedule possibly interfering, Deadline reports that she is close to inking a deal to return as Hit Girl. All of the principle characters(Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse) are close to signing on as well, and that include Nicolas Cage, who will likely only be there in a cameo. Unless he's a zombie or something, which having read the comic book I can confirm he's not.
* Obviously, Brad Pitt and Andrew Dominik have formed a pretty close bond while in the process of filming their two movies together. Pitt earned some of the best reviews of his stellar career in Dominik's The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, and is hearing much the same out of Cannes for the crime flick, Killing Them Softly. So Pitt is clearly a Dominik fan, so much so that he's lending the power of his name to the director's next project. Pitt will produce Dominik's upcoming Marilyn Monroe biopic, simply titled Blonde, and based on the 2001 book by Joyce Carol Oates. Naomi Watts had been circling the lead role, but it appears she's no longer attached, which is disappointing. I assume she's busy playing another famous blonde, Princess Diana. No word on when this will roll in front of cameras, but hopefully it'll be soon. [24 Frames]
