The marketing campaign for The Amazing Spider-Man is in full swing(bah dum bum), and Sony is doing the smart thing by emphasizing the mix of darkness and comic tones that have defined the character for 40 years. Yesterday's clip was an ominous, horror inspired scene with Gwen Stacy(Emma Stone) hiding out from The Lizard's(Rhys Ifans) rampage. Now two more clips have emerged that highlight the rocky relationship between Peter Parker(Andrew Garfield) and Gwen's father, police captain George Stacy(Denis Leary).
The first big is a web swinging city chase as Stacy's police force attempts to apprehend an escaping Spidey. The second has Peter Parker trying his best to explain just how big of a reptile issue the city faces, with Stacy taking it about as well as you'd expect. The Amazing Spider-Man hits theaters on July 3rd, check the new footage below....[Yahoo!/MetaCafe]
