Two new posters for political comedy, 'The Campaign'

Uggghhh...we're still five friggin' months away until this seemingly eternal Presidential election is finally over. By that time I probably won't give a crap who wins. Nor will it matter since politicians are basically campaigning for office 365 days a year. But before that November date rolls around, we'll be treated to a political comedy featuring two of today's biggest stars of the genre when The Campaign opens on August 10th.

Jay Roach directs the film, with Zach Galifianakis and Will Ferrell as two rival congressional candidates jockeying for votes in a small North Carolina district. Ferrell plays the incumbent, Cam Brady, who makes a major goof that forces his donors to primary challenge him for the seat. Galifianakis plays his opponent, the sweetly southern Marty Huggins, who looks to be out of his depth but may have more guts than people think. Two new posters have been released which jab at the political gamesmanship that plagues pretty much every campaign, whether they be big or small.

Dan Akroyd, Jason Sudeikis, Brian Cox, Dylan McDermott, John Lithgow, Brian Cox, and Kathryn LaNasa co-star. [Yahoo!]
