Yeah, it was just a couple of days ago that we all were justifiably blown away by the first set photo of Naomi Watts as Princess Diana in the biopic, Caught in Flight. And now today there's more reason to get excited, as the first official image from the film has been released, and if it were more possible for Watts to capture the essence of the late royal, she's found it.
Directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel(The Invasion), the film chronicles Diana's relationship with Hasnat Khan(Naveen Andrews), who many say was the true love of her life. She was with him from around 1995 until shortly before her death, when she took up with Dodi Fayed.
While this looks amazing, and the story is an intriguing and controversial one, Hirschbiegel worries me a little bit. So does screenwriter Stephen Jeffreys, who last wrote the Johnny Depp historical drama, The Libertine. Both are spotty at best, so it may be up to Watts to carry the film on her own. [Kinopoisk]
