Incredible new 'The Hobbit' banner unfolds the epic journey

Never let it be said that Peter Jackson is anything but generous. Fans eager for every scrap of detail on The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey were basically able to follow along with the New Zealand production every step of the way. With Comic-Con right around the corner and the expectation of new clips seen in the much hyped 48fps, we were still treated to an exclusive Gandalf poster for the event. And yet that still isn't all we're getting, as today sees the release of a massive new banner for the film, which you can see below and will want to click to enlarge....

This isn't just your regular, ordinary character banner. It unfolds with such scope that it encompasses a number of critical scenes from the film, which appear to be laid out in chronological order. So it begins with Gandalf arriving at Bilbo's home, and ends with the traveling party escaping downriver. We also get our first look at the shapeshifting Beorn(played by Mikael Persbrandt), seen here in his bear form.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will hit theaters on December 14th, followed up a year later with The Hobbit: There and Back Again on December13th.
