It should come as a shock to nobody that ALL of the newly released images from Resident Evil: Retribution feature characters armed to the teeth. What else is there to the franchise, really? I count myself as one of the many who enjoy the Resident Evil flicks for what they are, which is an excuse to see the sexy Milla Jojovich wear something tight while ripping zombies to smithereens. Not a lot of depth to be found, and now that we're at the fifth film in the series, the story makes less sense than ever. So bring on the hot chicks and big guns, Paul W. S. Anderson. Bring them on.
The latest batch of photos does include a couple of highlights. We get our first look at Kevin Durand as the popular video game character, Barry Burton, a member of the resistance who teams up with Alice to take down the Umbrella Corp. And there's also a better glimpse at Michelle Rodriguez as the returning Rain Campo, who had died at the end of the first film. The story this time around has Alice waking up in one of Umbrella's clandestine facilities, and teaming up with a number of old friends and enemies to stop the T-Virus's rapid spread across Earth.
