Arnold Schwarzenegger fires lots of guns in 'The Last Stand' trailer
How much Arnold Schwarzenegger is too much? Is there even such a thing? It seems like he's been everywhere this week, with The Expendables 2 hitting theaters later tonight, and new photos from his upcoming film, The Tomb. But beyond all that, we're finally starting to see the curtain lifted on The Last Stand, and so far what we've seen is worth getting pumped over.
Fresh off yesterday's reveal of a brand new poster, the first trailer for The Last Stand has now hit the web, and it looks like throwback, old school action at its finest. Not particularly weighty stuff, but would anybody sign up to see Schwarzenegger do Hamlet? Nah, didn't think so. The Governator plays Sheriff Owens, who looks after the sleepy town of Sommerton Junction after leaving his LAPD job in disgrace. His relaxing weekend goes up in smoke when a violent crimelord busts out of a federal convoy, and along with his team of armed goons heads straight for the border, and of course Sommerton Junction.
Fast paced, intense, an with touches of dark humor, the fingerprints of South Korean director Kim Jee-Woon(I Saw the Devil) are all over this. Genesis Rodriguez, Peter Stormare, Johnny Knoxville, Jaime Alexander, Forest Whittaker, Rodrigo Santoro, and more lead a cast of B-listers that should fit in well with the film's gritty tone. The Last Stand opens next year on January 18th....
