Carey Mulligan to lead James Marsh's dark comedy, 'Nancy and Danny'
Carey Mulligan in a dark comedy that's being compared to Gus Van Sant's pitch black classic To Die For, and directed by James Marsh, the guy behind Man on Wire, Red Riding 1980, and Project NIM? Check please. Let's have this movie now, shall we?
THR reports that Mulligan will star in Nancy and Danny, Marsh's comedy thriller about a small town woman whose dreams of a big city life have failed. In order to win over her high school crush, she uses a hapless as her pawn in a get rich scheme that doesn't go quite as planned. The script comes from Brad Inglesby, who wrote the much hyped revenge flick, Out of the Furnace.
Another solid choice for Mulligan, who like her co-star in The Great Gatsby, Tobey Maguire, seems to be looking for ways to pass the time until next summer when they'll start doing the press tour. She'll likely be seen before that in the Coen Brothers' folk music tale, Inside Llewyn Davis.
