The most disturbing part of last year's festival season? Constantly running into that scary image of Sean Penn in drag from Paul Sorrentino's drama, This Must Be the Place. Despite looking like a sad and dour affair, reviews from out of Cannes pegged the film as being more offbeat than one would think, and that's certainly reflected in the latest trailer.
So what's the deal with the hair? Penn plays Cheyenne, a fading rock star who goes on a hunt throughout the U.S. for the ex-Nazi war criminal who tormented his deceased father. Not what you were expecting, right? So basically it's like KISS meets The Debt or something? The trailer is a little far out, and I think they may be going overboard with Iggy Pop's "The Passenger" backing it, but everything about this screams "must see!" Frances McDormand, Judd Hirsch, Kerry Condon, and Harry Dean Stanton co-star.
