Neil Jordan's always been a fantastic director, but when he dabbles in the world of monsters and the supernatural he always tackles it from a fresh perspective. Interview with the Vampire is probably the best example, but he had similarly fresh takes with The Company of Wolves and the mermaid flick, Ondine. Byzantium sees him returning to the world of bloodsuckers for the first time in nearly twenty years.
Empire has unveiled a new clip from the film, which stars Gemma Artertron and Saoirse Ronan as a pair of 200-year old vampires who are hiding out in a rundown coastal hotel, where they each find love with two gentleman(Sam Riley and Caleb Landry Jones). They soon discover that letting their guard down comes with a price, as knowledge of their true identity spreads and their deadly past comes back to haunt them.
Byzantium will make its debut in Toronto, but right now there's no U.S. release date. Expect to see it land some time next year....
