Disney has been putting a heavy emphasis on the retro video game characters populating Wreck-It Ralph, their animated film that has really captured the attention of old school gamers. But if Disney's to have another hit on their hands, there will have to be a lot more to the story than just waiting for the next Bowser appearance or hoping Super Mario makes a cameo. Perhaps keenly aware of that, Disney's newly released clip highlights the contentious first meeting between Ralph(John C. Reilly) and the ultra-cute Vanellope von Schweetz(Sarah Silverman).
Vanellope is a video game glitch inhabiting the vibrant, candy-coated world of Sugar Rush, a kart racing game that Ralph ventures into on his quest to save the arcade and become a hero. Some of Silverman's in-your face attitude clearly peeks through as Vanellope annoyingly picks on Ralph, but unfortunately remains free of her trademark raunch. It's a good scene that should play well with the kids, although I find Vanellope more irritating than anything else. Hopefully she's not around too long.
