Of all the young stars making their name on Fox's hit musical series, Glee, perhaps the one best poised to make a splash on the silver screen is Chris Colfer. The Golden Globe winner and Emmy nominee is already venturing into that world with the indie comedy, Struck By Lightning, which he produced, wrote, and stars in. After debuting at Tribeca this year to relatively decent response, a new trailer for the film has now been released.
Directed by Brian Dannelly(Saved!), the film has Colfer starring as Carson Phillips, who at the beginning of the story is struck by lightning and killed, leading to him recounting via flashback how he blackmailed his high school classmates to contribute to his life's goal of becoming an editor at The New Yorker. Colfer's pulled together an amazing cast, with Allison Janney, Sarah Hyland, Dermot Mulroney, Christina Hendricks, and Rebel Wilson. But other than the narrative structure there isn't much here to separate it from other teen comedies.
