1st trailer and poster for 'The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia'
Three years ago The Haunting in Connecticut served up hearty haunted house scares on a meager budget, coasting its way to over $77M at a time when animated movies were dominating the box office. Not exactly world-beating numbers, but enough that a sequel was likely, and soon we learned that Gold Circle Films had two in the works, centering on families haunted in two very different locales. Like the original, it would be based on an alleged real life encounter with the paranormal, and would be directed by 'Connecticut' editor Tom Elkins.
First announced as The Haunting in Georgia, it now goes by the overlong and confusing title of The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia(wait, what?), and with a release date right around the corner, we're finally getting a look at the trailer. The film is comprised mostly of TV vets, Chad Michael Murray(One Tree Hill), Katee Sackhoff(Battlestar Galactica) and Abigail Spencer(Mad Men), following a family that moves into a historic Georgia home, only to discover they aren't alone. As you might expect, the new location gives way to a deeply Southern Gothic approach, but the poster looks like someone saw The Last Exorcism once too often.
Presumably, if this does well, we'll see the next chapter in the series, which takes place in New York and has Sean Hood(Halloween: Resurrection) penning the screenplay. The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia will get a small theatrical run and VOD release on February 1st 2013. Check out the trailer below.....[IGN/Yahoo!]
