Oscar Isaac and Jason Clarke to lead William Monahan's 'Mojave'

It's been awhile since we heard anything about Mojave, the next directorial effort from Academy Award-winning writer William Monahan(The Departed). While we still don't know much about it except it's a crime thriller set in Los Angeles, at least now we can start talking about who the stars will be.

Rising star Jason Clarke(Lawless) will join Oscar Isaac(Drive, 10 Years) in the film, which had been targeting a start date last summer before getting bumped to early next year. I wasn't all that enthused by Monahan's directorial debut, London Boulevard, but he's a phenomenal writer and now he has two leads who can take Mojave to a different level. Isaac has been everywhere of late, appearing in three movies this year alone. He's got an adaptation of Therese Raquin on the way, along with the Coen Brothers' folk music film, Inside Llewyn Davis. Clarke was just seen as one of the Bondurant boys in Lawless, and will turn up in Kathryn Bigelow's Zero Dark Thirty later this month.

Monahan co-wrote the script for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, and just recently signed to pen a remake of Sympathy for Lady Vengeance starring Charlize Theron.
