"Superman goes to Jail" sounds like a bad superhero spinoff of those Ernest movies. Questions and rumors continue to swirl around Warner Bros. plans for their corner of the comic book movie universe, and most of them surrounded Zack Snyder's Man of Steel. Will it connect to Justice League? Is Henry Cavill the guy to make us all forget Brandon Routh and Superman Returns? What was up with that surprisingly downbeat trailer?
You won't find any of those answers in the brand new poster for Man of Steel, in fact it only raises more questions. The image shows Superman being perp-walked by a bunch of military folks, presumably being taken off to jail or whatever facility they think can hold the most powerful being on the planet. Based on what we know, the story is going to find Clark Kent at a crossroads in his life and questioning his purpose on Earth, and I think humans wanting to imprison him despite his heroic acts is a good reason why he may feel that way.
The new trailer will debut on December 14th ahead of The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, so expect it to hit online the same day. Man of Steel opens on June 14th 2013.
