Sure Shots: Kim Ji-Woon; Mike Cahill; Gillian Jacobs

* South Korean director Kim Ji-Woon is soon to make his English-language debut with The Last Stand, but he's planning on something considerably more ambitious to work on next. He's now set to direct a live-action adaptation of manga/anime classic, Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade. Created by Mamoru Oshii and adapted many times before, the story takes place in an alternate history where the Nazis won WWII and have conquered Japan. Oshii had originally planned a live-action version years ago before deciding to go the animated route. This new film will be titled Inrang, and is in the earliest stages of development. [Twitch]

* We haven't heard much from Mike Cahill since he broke out directing Brit Marling in Another Earth, but he's back now and staying within the sci-fi genre for his next feature. He'll direct iOrigins, a film which will "explore the emotional side of science". The story follows a doctor on the brink of a major scientific discovery, who travels to India to search for a young Indian girl who can prove or disprove his theory. [Hollywood]

* NBC's Community may be in a state of disarray at the moment, but that hasn't slowed down Gillian Jacobs in the least. The actress, best known for playing Britta Perry on the series, recently had a small role in Seeking a Friend for the End of the World, and now she's joining Elizabeth Banks and James Marsden in Walk of Shame. She'll play the best friend to Banks' character, an aspiring TV news anchor who finds herself with no money, ID, car, phone, or clothes after a wild night of partying. With the most important interview of her life coming up, she must endure a number of misadventures to get across town in time. Steven Brill wrote the script and will direct. [THR]
