First trailer for Danny Boyle's heist thriller 'Trance' with James McAvoy
It took awhile for Trance to be completed, what with Danny Boyle having to split the production for that whole Summer Olympics thing, but the film is now done and ready to hit theaters in the U.K. The first trailer debuted on BBC1 last night, and now it's landed online, looking like another impressive addition to Boyle's already stellar resume.
Jams McAvoy stars as an auction house assistant who hooks up with a gang led by Vincent Cassel to plan a heist. When one of the pieces is lost during the crime, the gang suspects duplicity, but the assistant has suffered amnesia from a blow to the head. Rosario Dawson plays the hypnotist assigned to help recover his memory and possibly the location of the missing art. Boyle's usual tricks are on full display, his camerawork blurring the lines of reality. Overall, it looks great and a fun diversion from the Oscar-worthy stuff Boyle has been doing lately.
Trance opens in the U.K. on March 27th, but no U.S. date yet.
