Release dates for 'Pirates of the Caribbean 5', '1952', and 'The Muppets 2'

2013 is only two weeks old and already we've got to start looking ahead to 2014 and beyond. Since nobody uses a paper calendar anymore, grab your phone and start punching in these release dates....

There's been a lot of talk about Pirates of the Caribbean 5 all of a sudden, with Jeff Nathanson(Catch Me If You Can) coming aboard to pen the script. Disney has has gone ahead and set July 10th 2015 as the date we can expect to see Johnny Depp back as Jack Sparrow. Still no clue who will direct, or who else may be returning.

Brad Bird and Damon Lindelof's mysterious 1952 will hit theaters during the Christmas holiday season, landing on December 19th 2014. Starring George Clooney and described as being in the same vein as Close Encounters of the Third Kind, the date indicates something family friendly.

The Muppets 2 should be filming soon with Ty Burrell, Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey and maybe Christoph Waltz on board for the European-set comedy sequel. Disney has given it a March 21st 2014 release date, so it won't be ready this year like some had hoped. James Bobin is back to direct, with Nicholas Stoller writing and Bret McKenzie providing more songs.

Disney has also bumped Angelina Jolie's Maleficent from March to July 2nd 2014.
