James McAvoy, Andrea Riseborough, and The Governor in new 'Welcome to the Punch' clip
After a couple of years away, we're going to be seeing an awful lot of James McAvoy in the coming months. Not only is he gearing up for a return as Charles Xavier in X-men: Days of Future Past, but he also has Danny Boyle's heist film, Trance, coming up in April. Not to mention he'll be featured in an adaptation of Irvine Welsh's Filth. But before that we'll see him in Eran Creevy's gritty crime thriller, Welcome to the Punch, and a new clip is here to boast some of its impressive talent.
The minute-long snippet is kind of hard to follow without proper context, but it gives us a chance to see McAvoy, Andrea Riseborough, and David Morrissey aka The Governor from The Walking Dead, banter about a case or something. Even without knowing what's going on, it's clear this is aiming to be a standard issue Brit crime caper, and there's really nothing wrong with that. Hopefully next time we'll get something with co-star Mark Strong, who plays the former criminal McAvoy is in pursuit of.
Welcome to the Punch opens on March 27th...
