After a nine month delay, we're finally going to see the Real American Heroes bounce back against Cobra in G.I. Joe: Retaliation. The reasons for the last-second delay vary, but Paramount insists it was only to crank it up with some 3D. Others point to poor audience test screenings where they specifically asked for more Channing Tatum, but the producers flat out deny that he was given a bump in screen time. It still doesn't make a lick of sense why they'd limit the most popular character played by the most bankable actor in Hollywood, but...hey, whatever. They're losing money on future action figure sales, at the very least.
Anyway, a new international trailer and ninja spot for the film have been released. There isn't a whole lot of new footage here, just another look at Dwayne Johnson, Bruce Willis, Adrianne Palicki, and more as your favorite childhood heroes. It's the second video that's the most awesome, highlighting all of the fierce ninja action between Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow, Jinx, and more. The way G.I. Joe was able to blend a deep martial arts lineage with standard military action was what I loved most, so this is really cool.
I'm holding out hope for a Sgt. Slaughter cameo when G.I. Joe: Retaliation opens on March 29th....
