New trailer for 'Two Mothers' with Naomi Watts and Robin Wright
"They're beautiful. They're like young gods". Well, if anyone can make a movie about two older women lusting after one another's young sons, it's Robin Wright and Naomi Watts. Even so, there's a lecherous quality to Two Mothers that is undeniable, even as the latest trailer shows that it's also quite the dramatic and insightful character piece.
Directed by Anne Fontaine (Coco Before Chanel) and based on Doris Lessing's novel, the story follows two middle-aged best friends who begin sleeping with the other's son. As expected, this causes some awkward moments and jealousies to emerge among the women. Watts and Wright look solid, as usual, but it also seems as if they're constantly struggling to lend credence to the salacious premise. The film played at Sundance, and word on the street was strong for the two leads, but little positive about everything else.
If it weren't for Watts and Wright, wouldn't this sound like a bad Lifetime movie or something? Two Mothers is expected to hit theaters this summer. [Vlicious!]
