It's pretty much accepted that Tyrion Lannister is the most popular character in Game of Thrones, right? How could he not be? He's a badass dwarf who easily navigates his way through the cutthroat realm full of killers and schemers, mostly by being one or two steps ahead of everybody else. Oh, and he's played by the awesome Peter Dinklage. It's been years since his big screen breakout in The Station Agent, and while he's gone on to much greater things, he's never done a superhero movie before. But that's about to change as he's joined the cast of Bryan Singer's X-men: Days of Future Past.
Singer hit Twitter to make the announcement himself...
Officially like to welcome #PeterDinklage from #GameOfThrones to #XMEN #DaysofFuturePast Very very excited!
— Bryan Singer (@BryanSinger) February 14, 2013There's no word on who he'll be playing, and there really aren't very many mutants his size. The most obvious pick would be Puck, a member of Wolverine's old Canadian team, Alpha Flight. But what the heck would he be doing in this particular story? Maybe he's somebody new altogether? If someone has a better idea of who he could be, let us know.
Along with the addition of Dinklage, it's been revealed that Singer plans to shoot the film in 3D. Not really a surprise given his familiarity with using it for Jack the Giant Slayer.
X-men: Days of Future Past hits theaters on July 18th 2014.
