New posters for 'The Blue Umbrella', 'The Host', 'Dark Skies' and more
Before enjoying Pixar's Monsters University, viewers will be treated to yet another groundbreaking short film. We've seen some incredible footage and images from The Blue Umbrella before, and they show the level of photo-realism to be something truly special. A new poster has been released for the short, which follows a blue and red umbrella that fall in love one rainy night. I'm ready to fall in love with this one already, but will have to wait until June 21st.
And you thought Stephenie Meyer took supernatural romance to some weird places with Twilight, just wait until you see the ball of confusion that is The Host. I'm still scratching my head over it. Starring Saoirse Ronan, William Hurt, Diane Kruger, Max Irons, and Jake Abel, the story follows human Melanie Stryder, who fights to maintain control when she's possessed by a benevolent alien "soul" named Wanderer. So what happens when a girl literally of two minds falls in love with two different dudes at the same time? Told you this sh*t was crazy. The Host opens on March 29th.
They should use Russian lettering for all horror movies from now on. It makes for an ominous new poster for Dark Skies, which stars Keri Russell and Josh Hamilton as parents whose kids are marked and targeted by an alien presence. Dakota Goyo (Real Steel) and J.K. Simmons co-star, with Scott Stewart directing. The film hits theaters on February 22nd.
We just debuted the first trailer for action-thriller The Numbers Station last night, and now today we've got the new poster. Neither are particularly impressive. Arriving on April 26th, the film stars John Cusack as a CIA agent assigned to protect a sexy code operator in a top secret facility. When they're attacked by an elite heavily armed team, they must fight against an unknown threat to survive.
It's bad when I've never heard of a movie, and that's definitely the case with Kiss of the Damned. That said, this retro water-colored poster is very nice, indeed. Directed by Xan Cassavetes, the vampire drama follows Djuna, a beautiful vamp whose love with a human is threatened by the arrival of her troublemaking sister. Josephine de la Baume (Mrs. Mark Ronson), Mila Ventimiglia, Riley Keough, Michael Rapaport, and Roxane Mesquida will star when it hits Itunes on March 28th. It arrives in theaters on May 3rd.
