Teaser poster for '300: Rise of an Empire'
More of that messy Spartan handwriting. Just a few days ago we received the logo for 300: Rise of an Empire, the sequel to Zack Snyder's hit swords 'n abs film based on the battle of Thermopylae. Now today, Stark Industries has what appears to be the first teaser poster for the film.
There's nothing new here to see, really, but it's interesting to again note that the August 2nd release date is nowhere to be found. It's looking like we'll be be waiting a bit longer for it. Probably not too much because they don't want to slip all the way down into Oscar season, where it certainly won't belong.
300: Rise of an Empire is directed by Noam Murro with Snyder and Kurt Johnstad teaming on the script, which tells the story of Persian ruler Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro) and Athenian Aristocles (Sullivan Stapleton) before, during, and after the battle depicted in 300. Eva Green, Jack O'Connell, and Callan Mulvey co-star.
