'Curse of Chucky' gets a new red band trailer

So Curse of Chucky is a thing that's happening. Who knew? I wish I didn't.

It's not that I hate Chucky, per se. It's just that I don't get how movies keep getting made about a killer doll. Freddy Krueger sequels, yes, I'm down. When the Sharknado franchise starts gathering more steam, sure, I'll jump onboard. But I think Chucky as a villain has run his course, and I think it's bad that there is no one recognizable in this sequel (at least Seed of Chucky had Jennifer Tilly! and Bride of Chucky had Katherine Heigl and Jason Ritter!), and I don't know about putting this film, narrative-wise, after Child's Play 3. It all just seems ... questionable.

But at this point, who can question writer and director Don Mancini's devotion to this project? He's worked on every single one of these films. It's clearly his life's work. So do what you do, Mancini. I guess someone, somewhere, will watch this movie.

Curse of Chucky comes out Oct. 8, but you don't have to hit up theaters for this one - it will be going straight to DVD. Check out the red band trailer below.
