While he first turned heads by holding his own opposite Nicole Kidman in Rabbit Hole, Miles Teller hasn't wasted any time in proving it was no fluke. He can be seen this weekend in The Spectacular Now with Shailene Woodley, and aside from the acclaimed drama earning rave reviews, both stars shared the Sundance Jury Prize for acting. Teller will again share screen time with Woodley in the YA adaptation Divergent, but he may be moving on to even bigger things, like his own superhero franchise.
As 20th Century Fox continues their revamp of Marvel's Fantastic Four, a story at The Wrap has Teller the frontrunner for the role of Reed "Mr. Fantastic" Richards, the stretchy genius who leads the team. It would be an inspired move for Fox (and a heck of an upgrade over Ioan Gruffudd!) and director Josh Trank to snag Teller now as he's a budding star, and it's consistent with the bold choices they're said to be considering for other roles. Girls star Allison Williams has been pegged for the role of Susan "The Invisible Woman" Storm, while Fruitvale Station breakout Michael B. Jordan is rumored for Johnny "The Human Torch" Storm.
So far we haven't heard anything about who could get orange and rocky as Ben Grimm, but with Fantastic Four not due until March 6th 2015 it may be awhile before we find out.
