Jason Momoa in Talks for 'Batman vs. Superman' Role

Attempts to turn Jason Momoa into an action star with Conan the Barbarian didn't exactly work out. In fact it turned out so badly a new film was ordered up immediately with ancient Arnold Schwarzenegger reclaiming the title role. But Momoa still looks the part of a warrior....or perhaps he'd make a better superhero? Warner Bros. seems to think it's the latter, as THR reports Mamoa is in talks for Batman vs. Superman.

There's no word on who Momoa would be playing in the Zack Snyder-directed sequel to Man of Steel, so it's possible he could be a foe rather than a friend to Superman and Batman. He'll be joining Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, with Nightwing still needed to be cast. Rumors have suggested Doomsday could be the chief villain and Momoa would make for a pretty good fit for it. Doomsday is a genetically altered creature of immense strength who actually killed Superman some time ago. THR speculates he could also be up for the role of Justice League member, Martian Manhunter, which he would not be as good a fit for.

If Martian Manhunter is indeed in the film, then we can probably pencil in the Flash and any number of other Justice League members. Chances are we will here definite word on Momoa's involvement one way or another, either from the actor himself or from Zack Snyder.

Man of Steel 2 (let's just call it that from now on, shall we?) opens July 17th 2015.
