'24: Live Another Day' gets May Premiere Date as Yvonne Strahovski Joins

Four years after the last time Jack Bauer came to the United States' rescue, he's back to live another day. Fox has announced that 24: Live Another Day will premiere on May 5th with a two-hour special, with the 12-episode miniseries airing every Monday at 9pm ET. The reborn series will of course mark the return of Bauer, played by the Kiefer Sutherland for eight seasons. Others due to return are popular co-star Mary Lynn Rajskub as the always-agitated techie Chloe O'Brian, Kim Raver, and William Devane. Yvonne Strahovski (Chuck) will come aboard as a CIA agent hot on Bauer's trail.

Maintaining the real-time format the show was famous for, the story takes place largely in London four years since we last saw Bauer. When the story begins he's a fugitive, a wanted man being pursued by Strahovski's character. Chloe has gone rogue, as well, becoming a free information extremist that will probably draw some parallels to Edward Snowden. Everything will take place over the course of a single day, told throughout the 12 episodes.

I watched 24 through every single season, and even when it wasn't great it was always entertaining. That's pretty much all I expect from 24: Live Another Day, and if it does well I won't be surprised if talk of a full revival starts back up. Maybe this will be the kick in the pants needed to get the 24 film back on track.
