Brad Pitt May Star in Steven Knight-Scripted WWII Film
There's a chance Brad Pitt is a WWII enthusiast in his spare time. It may have started with Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds, in which Pitt got to indulge in a highly fictionalized version of events. Later this year he's got David Ayer's tank thriller, Fury, and now he's considering another WWII film that has a prominent writer attached.
Deadline reports Pitt is circling an untitled WWII romantic thriller written by Steven Knight, the scribe behind Locke, Eastern Promises, and Dirty Pretty Things. There aren't any other details at this stage but a "big director" is being sought. That will be a lot easier to accomplish if Pitt signs on, and with production eyed for next year there's plenty of time to make the right decision.
