Josh Brolin to 'Hail Caesar' Opposite George Clooney

In development for some time and alluded to some months ago, the Coen Brothers are finally moving forward on Hail Caesar, originally part of their George Clooney-led "Numbskull Trilogy" that included O Brother Where Art Thou and Intolerable Cruelty. It was basically supplanted by Burn After Reading so this would be the fourth idiot film Clooney will star in for them. As it turns out, Clooney won't be the only actor on board who has found plenty of success alongside the Coens.

Josh Brolin, who starred in the Coens' Oscar-winning No Country for Old Men, has joined Clooney in the film, which is set in the 1950s and follows a Hollywood fixer named Eddie Mannix. Early plot descriptions also included a major Roman-themed production and considering the film's title we can probably assume it remains in some fashion.

No word on when Hail Caesar will roll but this is about as good a start as one could hope for. [Variety]
