In the first season two episode of Marvel's Agents of SHIELD there was a not-so-subtle elbow jab to audiences reminding them to watch Agent Carter when it airs next year. The series, which will run during the Agents of SHIELD mid-season break, brings Hayley Atwell back as the titular WWII hero, who carries out missions for the SSR, a precursor to SHIELD. This being an origin story, it only made sense that some characters we've already seen from that era would return, and now Marvel has confirmed Dominic Cooper will be reprising his role as Howard Stark in the series. Stark made his first cinematic appearance in Captain America: The First Avenger and is the father to Tony Stark aka Iron Man. Cooper joins Chad Michael Murray, James D'Arcy, Enver Gjokaj, and Shea Whigham in the cast.
Over on the DC side of the small screen, the Batman series Gotham has gotten off to an incredibly strong start, with fans apparently loving these early looks at the dark knight's eventual enemies. And now one of his most complicated foes is coming to town as Nicholas D'Agosto, probably best known for Final Destination 5 and Showtime's Masters of Sex, has been cast as Harvey Dent who will become the villain Two-Face. He's not expected to be a major force in the first season but with the series likely to get a renewal the chances of us seeing Dent, an altruistic district attorney, go schizo are pretty good. I still have major problems with Gotham as a series and a big part of that is the sheer volume of characters needing screen time, but Two-Face is one of my favorite Bat-villains and it will be interesting to see this new take on him.
