Hilarious Red Band Trailer, Clips, and Promos for 'Dear White People'

Let's be honest, racism is never going away, and there's nothing funny about some of the racially-charged stories that have been in the news lately. But there is plenty of humor to be found in the way people stereotype others and pretend racism doesn't exist in the Obama era. Basically, Justin Simien's debut feature Dear White People tears apart the myth of post-racial America and does it in hilarious and perceptive fashion, as seen in this new red band trailer.

Starring Tyler James Williams, Tessa Thompson, Teyonah Parris, Brandon P. Bell, Kyle Gallner, Dennis Haysbert and more, the film centers on the uproar caused at a predominantly white university over two things: a controversial radio program titled 'Dear White People', and a campus "hip-hop" party featuring some incredibly offensive black stereotypes. It's a film I enjoyed at Sundance, although perhaps not as much as some others. One thing for sure is that Dear White People is going to turn some heads when it opens on October 17th. Check out the trailer and a clip below, followed by some hilarious promos done in the style of those cheesy "The More You Know" promos NBC used to run during commercial breaks.
