Julia Roberts and Jack O'Connell in Talks for Jodie Foster's 'Money Monster'
The meteoric rise of Jack O'Connell continues later this year when he stars in Angelina Jolie's Unbroken. She may not be the only actress-turned-director he'll be taking on a major role for, though, as Jodie Foster wants him and Julia Roberts for her next film, the financial world thriller, Money Monster.
Already set to star George Clooney as Lee Gates, a bombastic TV personality who offers up stock tips on his hit show, the film could get a serious injection of star power if both O'Connell and Roberts sign on. And it sounds like both will have solid roles, too, as O'Connell would play a cash-strapped blue collar worker who takes Gates hostage on air to drive up the price of a stock and expose the Wall Street crooks. Roberts would play the exec-producer and director of Gates' show, and possibly his love interest.
Foster hopes to go into production on Money Monster next year.
