'Deadpool' will Recast the Role of Colossus

It came as a surprise to learn that the Russian X-man known as Colossus would be appearing in the Deadpool movie because the two aren't exactly tied at the hip. The role had been filled by Daniel Cudmore, who appeared in X-2, X-men: The Last Stand, and last year's X-men: Days of Future Past, but it was unclear if he would be reprising the role once more. Well, Cudmore took to Twitter and revealed that the role would be recast with another actor.

It's unclear why the decision was made to go with a different actor, but maybe we'll be seeing a younger version of Colossus? We've already seen the roles of Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Storm recast with different actors for X-men: Apocalypse, and Channing Tatum taking over the role of Gambit.

Deadpool opens February 12th 2016 starring Ryan Reynolds, Ed Skrein, Gina Carano, and TJ Miller.
