Jeff Bridges Leads 'The Emperor's Children', Halle Berry is 'Mother', Eric Bana Joins 'Knights of the Round Table'

With Seventh Son currently a giant "whiff" at the box office, Jeff Bridges is moving on to his next leading role. He'll star in an adaptation of Claire Messud's novel, The Emperor's Children, which we learned last year would be Lake Bell's directorial follow-up to In A World. Penned by Noah Baumbauch (The Squid and the Whale), who was originally going to direct it himself, the film centers on "three entitled but unsuccessful late twentysomethings who orbit the life of a famous journalist in the months before and after the events of 9/11. Two people's entrance into this circle threatens an upheaval." Bridges will play the central character, Murray Thwaite, a legendary journalist and father to one of the three friends. [THR]

Halle Berry is set to star in Mother, an action-comedy written by Pablo Fenjves (Man on a Ledge). What's the film about? Nobody knows. Who's directing? Your guess is as good as mine. All I know is that it better not be some kind of remake of the awesome South Korean film of the same name.  [Deadline]

Eric Bana will play Uther, the father of King Arthur in Guy Ritchie's long-developing Knights of the Round Table. With Charlie Hunnam as Arthur, Astrid Berges-Frisbeyas Guinevere, and Djimon Hounsou as a Merlin-type character, the film is a complete reimagining of the famous Arthurian legend. [Variety]
