Trailer for Cameron Crowe's 'Aloha' starring Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, and Rachel McAdams

Some projects just take a bit longer to get moving than others, and Cameron Crowe's new comedy Aloha is one of those. Originally titled Deep Tiki, it was written a few years ago with a completely different cast in mind, but never got off the ground. Crowe wrapped up We Bought a Zoo and a couple of documentary features then got back to work. Now titled Aloha, the Hawaii-set film features an all-star cast of Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, and basically it looks like your typical Crowe film only with more islands and palm trees.

Cooper takes the lead of this one as a defense contractor who makes a major screw-up and gets banished to Hawaii to oversee a troubled satellite launch. There he reconnects with a long lost love (McAdams) and falls for the feisty Air Force pilot (Stone) assigned to him. Let's be honest here: this looks like every other Cameron Crowe movie....well, ever. Great music, overly sentimental but catchy dialogue, and a lead character in the midst of some existential crisis. By the numbers stuff. But this trailer also isn't very good and doesn't make the best use of the A-list cast. I'm smelling Elizabethtown all over this one.

Also starring John Krasinski, Alec Baldwin, Bill Murray, and Danny McBride, Aloha opens May 29th.
