Managed to stay awake throughout last night's Oscars? Then the last sight of the evening was Sean Penn nonchalantly dropping a green card joke while announcing Birdman as Best Picture. This has sparked a ton of controversy, needlessly in my opinion since it was a gag between friends, but Penn is most definitely in the news today. And that means now is a good time to keep hyping his next movie, The Gunman.
Penn stars alongside Idris Elba, Javier Bardem, Jasmine Trinca, and Ray Winstone in a film that looks like something Liam Neeson passed up on. Directed by Taken's Pierre Morel, the story follows a hitman who wants out of the game to spend time with the woman he loves. Think it goes smoothly? Of course not as the organization he works for wants him dead.
The Gunman hits theaters on March 20th.
