Bella Thorne Joins 'Alvin and the Chipmunks 4'; Jon Bernthal and Richard Armitage take a 'Pilgrimage'

The lovely and talented ex-Disney starlet Bella Thorne (last seen in The DUFF), will talk to CGI rodents in Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip. The fourth film in the $1.1B franchise (!!!) will be directed by Walt Becker, and will have Alvin, Simon, and Theodore mistakenly believing that Dave (presumably again played by Jason Lee) is about to propose to his girlfriend. Hijinks ensue. The film hits theaters on December 23rd. so mark your calendars.

Jon Bernthal (Fury), Richard Armitage (The Hobbit trilogy), and Tom Holland (The Impossible) will take the male leads in Pilgrimage, an action thriller from director Brendan Muldowney. The film is set in the 13th century and "follows a small group of monks as they undertake a treacherous pilgrimage to escort their monastery’s holiest relic to Rome. As the journey becomes increasingly fraught with danger, the faith that binds the men together threatens to be the very same thing that will tear them apart." Muldowney has directed two features up to this point, Savage and Love Eternal, but this would be the biggest film of his career. [Deadline]
