One can never have too much of a good thing, right? Hollywood and Warner Bros. certainly think so, which is why multiple spinoffs and sequels of The Lego Movie are on the way. We already know to expect The Lego Movie 2, Ninjago, and Lego Batman, and now you can add a new film by Jason Segel and Iron Man 3's Drew Pearce.
Segel will co-direct and co-write with Pearce a Lego spinoff titled The Billion Brick Race. We don't know anything else about it except that Phil Lord, Chris Miller, and Roy Lee will produce. Judging by the title we could be looking at a Cannonball Run-style road trip movie with a large roster of drivers.
So this is a pretty cool development as Segel was the driving force behind Disney's relaunch of The Muppets. Pearce also wrote the screenplay for Mission: Impossible-Rogue Nation and is working on Sony's Ghostbusters reboot. This is just getting underway but Warner Bros. continues to put the pieces together for a long lasting and lucrative Lego franchise.
