New Trailer for 'Ex Machina' with Domhnall Gleeson, Oscar Isaac, and Alicia Vikander
If sentient robots with questionable morals are your bag, chances are your attention has been turned to this summer's Avengers: Age of Ultron. But for those looking for something a bit less superhero-y that tackles a number of themes related to the use of artificial intelligence, Alex Garland's directorial debut Ex Machina may be the way to go.
A new trailer for the film opens up a number of questions, while still appearing to be a gripping, nuanced thriller. Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Domhnall Gleeson and Oscar Isaac lead the film which centers on a lonely computer programmer recruited by his company's eccentric CEO to take part in testing his new creation. It turns out to be a highly advanced artificial intelligence named Ava (Alicia Vikander), a cyborg in the form of a woman.
Ex Machina hit SXSW this week and will open in theaters on April 10th.
