David Lynch is Back for Showtime's 'Twin Peaks' Revival

Well guess who's coming back home to Twin Peaks! Only a month ago David Lynch bowed out of return of his cult favorite series on Showtime, basically because both sides couldn't come to terms on a contract. The network seemed prepared to move on without him, but thankfully that's something none of us will have to endure.

Lynch hit Twitter and announced his return for a third season of Twin Peaks, which will air on Showtime in 2016...

Not only that, but Showtime president David Nevins revealed they've expanded the number of episodes beyond the originally-ordered nine, saying “This damn fine cup of coffee from Mark and David tastes more delicious than ever. Totally worth the extra brewing time and the cup is even bigger than we expected. David will direct the whole thing which will total more than the originally announced nine hours. Preproduction starts now!!”

So there you have it. Lynch will direct and co-write his Twin Peaks revival, and all is right with the world.
