First Clip from Natalie Portman's Directorial Debut 'A Tale of Love and Darkness'

She may have only starred in a handful of films over the last few years, but Natalie Portman is definitely turning that around. With the Cannes Film Festival taking place we've seen her board a number of upcoming projects that will put her back on the silver screen in a big way, but perhaps the one that will have most people talking is her directorial debut, A Tale of Love and Darkness. With the drama set to premiere at the festival, the very first clip has arrived.

Portman stars alongside Gilad Kahana and Amir Tessler in the adaptation of Israeli author Amos Oz's best-selling autobiography chronicling his childhood during the early years of the state of Israel. She plays Oz's mother, Fania, and in this scene we see some of the influence she had on her son by telling him parables.

No release date for this one yet but it wouldn't be a surprise to see it in the fall.
