Full 'Captain America: Civil War' Cast and Synopsis Reveals Some Big Surprises

Are you sick and tired of Captain America: Civil War yet? Tough, because with production cranking up Marvel has just released the synopsis and full cast for the gigantic film. And as expected, not only is this basically looking like the next true Avengers movie, but there are a few surprises that nobody was expecting.

Following his debut this summer as Ant-Man, Paul Rudd will be making his first appearance alongside the other Avengers. He'll be joined by Don Cheadle as War Machine, Paul Bettany will return as Vision, and William Hurt will reprise his role as General Thunderbolt Ross from 2008's The Incredible Hulk.  The rest of the cast we were previously aware of, but sadly there's still no confirmation of Martin Freeman's role, although rumors continue to circulate. Nor does do they reveal anything on Spider-Man who is expected to debut in the film. Here's the official synopsis:

“Captain America: Civil War” picks up where “Avengers: Age of Ultron” left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

The presence of Thunderbolt Ross suggests the Hulk is going to be factor, even if Mark Ruffalo isn't necessarily in the film. They may be setting up something big for the Jade Giant, like possibly a solo Hulk movie? Captain America: Civil War opens May 6th 2016 directed by Joe and Anthony Russo.
