Kate Hudson Joins Her Father Kurt Russell in 'Deepwater Horizon'
Unbelievably, Kate Hudson has never been in a film alongside her famous parents, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell. There were rumors some years ago she would remake her mother's iconic role in Private Benjamin, but that never came to be and Rebel Wilson is now eying it. She's ready to start working with her father, though, joining him in Deepwater Horizon, Peter Beg's film on the BP oil rig disaster.
Hudson joins Mark Wahlberg, Dylan O'Brien, Gina Rodriguez, Russell, and John Malkovich in the film that centers on the 2010 BP oil rig disaster in the Gulf of Mexico that claimed the lives of 11 people and injured 17 others. Matthew Michael Carnahan (World War Z) wrote the screenplay which will focus on the men and women aboard the rig and the heroes who came to their rescue.
Hudson's next film is Barry Levinson's rock comedy, Rock the Kasbah, and she's set to join Mike Epps in Lee Daniels' Richard Pryor biopic. [Variety]
