It doesn't seem to matter what kind of film Joe Wright is working on because they all turn out looking like elaborate fairy tales. Atonement, Hanna, Pride & Prejudice, Anna Karenina...there's an opulence to his productions that guarantees they will all be visually stunning. That certainly extends to his upcoming fairy tale, Pan, and the latest trailer takes us into a breathtaking rendition of Neverland.
Starring Hugh Jackman as Blackbeard the pirate, Garrett Hedlund as Hook, Rooney Mara as Tiger Lily, Levi Miller as Peter Pan, Amanda Seyfried as Mary, and Adeel Akhtar as Smee, the film is basically a mature origin story for the famous J.M. Barrie character. Here's the official synopsis:
Offering a new take on the origin of the classic characters created by J.M. Barrie, the action adventure follows the story of an orphan who is spirited away to the magical Neverland. There, he finds both fun and dangers, and ultimately discovers his destiny—to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan.
Pan sets sail on October 9th.
